Ice cream, you scream…

This is a shot I took last year which is about to launch Guilty Pleasures’ summer campaign. The mood we were going for was 70’s Pirelli Calendar - I think we nailed it!

My very lovely friend Catherine allowed us to basically throw whipped cream over her all day while she was wearing very little. It was a good day!

Guilty Pleasures goes to the circus..

This is the latest promo shot I did for Guilty Pleasures. It was of the very incredible ‘aerialist’ Freya Watson. She’s got a ring rigged up at her very cool flat in Old Street - who doesn’t?!

It was for the April flyer and worked well as Koko was rammed full to capacity with people doing their Guilty Pleasures thing.

Retouching and design by the very clever Hannah Woodcock.

happy birthday to me

Last night was my birthday and I got the best present in the world ever - a man hug from James Murphy! He of LCD and DFA and other anagrams that add up to amazing.

He was in town for Red Bull and the ‘road to New York’ which is where they’re hosting the next Red Bull Music Academy in October.

These photos were from a set he played in the very aptly named Boiler Room. It was ace. And the man gives GREAT hug!

London rocks

Baz. Hockney. Sushi. Beers. Warehouse party. Tuuuunes. Canal walk home. Nice.

A vision on Crimson

Photos of assistants when setting up a shoot often make me laugh. This one makes me smile. A lot.

We were using Crimson 173 to match the client’s logo. I think it really suits Tim.

Actually - I think this one might be even better!

Hmmmm…

…. I’ve re-tagged some of my old photos and it seems they’ve reposted at the beginning of my feed. Not sure how to make sure my old news stays old news…

Silhouette…

…is a lovely looking word. It’s also a test I did last week for an exciting job that might be happening in the not too distant future.

The very awesome Tim Bowditch (timbowditch.tumblr.com) helped me set this up and we photographed Wasma (wmansour.tumblr.com) and Andre (andrepenteado.com) in the Roof Unit studio.

I stitched them together and this is the result.

Guernsey Shore

I went to Guernsey back in August with a big Mamiya 645 camera. It was my first time with a medium format camera and I liked it a lot.

Here’s a couple of photos that I’ve only just scanned. There will be more!

Porto

I just returned from a commission where I took all of my big clever cameras to Portugal to take photographs of a viaduct being built.

Two of my favourite photos I took with my phone though. Might save myself the heavy lifting next time!

If you build it they will come

I’m over in Vila Real - just inland from Porto in northern Portugal - taking photos of super cranes helping build the biggest viaduct in Portugal. There’s about 30 of those pillars..

I’ll be getting a lot more up close and personal with them tomorrow. In fact I’m climbing up 200 meters of steps closer. Apparently they move about a lot with the wind. Something to look forward to then!
